March 2026 – Jalen Gonzalez (23) has been indicted on aggravated cruelty to animals charges for allegedly pulling his ex-girlfriend’s cat apart by its head and hind leg. Prosecutors say Gonzalez became drunk, refused to leave his girlfriend’s apartment. It is said that the girlfriend left and returned with her uncle, when Gonzalez was allegedly holding the cat by its neck and hind leg, stretching the animal apart. Under current law, the charges are not bail-eligible. If convicted, Gonzalez faces a maximum of just two years in jail. Gonzalez was released and is due back in court at a later date.
