January 2026 – According to online records, Brigitte V. Gaston (62) allegedly abandoned a dog in a box on the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s property in Menands. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shelter to find the 4-pound terrier mix in poor condition. Shelter staff provided aid to the dog, but the dog died from its injuries. Gaston was charged with abandonment of animals. She was released on an appearance ticket and due in Menands Village Court at a later date.
