July 2026 — Mary Dewey (63) was arrested following an investigation into animal cruelty, and charged with seven counts of failure to provide sustenance to animals and six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. The arrest stems from deputies responce to a home and found seven animals in extremely poor conditions. It’s alleged that Dewey had not provided the animals with proper food and water, and all the animals needed immediate veterinary attention. Three cats and four dogs were seized, and six dead dogs were collected from the property. Dewey was released on an appearance ticket, answering charges at a later date.
