Jeremiah Coffey III (51) was arrested and charged with overdriving, torturing and injuring animals by failing to provide sustenance after deputies responded to a home for an animal complaint. A subsequent investigation determined Coffey was allegedly not giving a dog in the home the proper amount of food or water. Coffey voluntarily gave up the dog as well as two cats to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter. He was then given an appearance ticket for further court proceedings and released. If found guilty of animal abuse, Coffey will be added to the Saratoga County Animal Abuse Registry and will be prevented from owning or buying animals again.
