Cain, Marleak and Elizabeth Poore

August 2025 – Marleak Cain (27) and Elizabeth Poore (41) were located and arrested in Albany after a joint operation by Albany County Sherrif’s, Guilderland Police Department, and Mohawk Hudson Humane Society Peace Officers responded to reports of possible animal cruelty.  Upon arrival to the apartment once rented by Can and Poore, investigators discovered an adult cat and three kittens dead in a crate and two additional adult cats and two small dogs left without enough food or water.  The investigation revealed that the animals were allegedly abandoned and left behind by Cain and Poore after they were evicted from the property.  Cain and Poore were taken into custody and charged with four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, eight counts of torturing or injuring animals/failure to provide sustenance, and eight counts of abandonment of animals. Both were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear at a later date.
