July 2026 – Erie County District Attorney Michael Keane says Stephen Andres, 42, and Tara Andres, 44, pleaded guilty Thursday morning to one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, a felony under New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.

June 2026 – Stephen Andres (42) and Tara Andres (44) were charged with one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, one count of Overdriving, Torturing and Injuring Animals, Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Officers say when they arrived, they allegedly found a dead dog who appeared to be emaciated, neglected, and living in unsanitary conditions. Another dog that also appeared to be allegedly neglected. A veterinarian pathologist determined the death was most likely caused by chronic and prolonged starvation. The couple are scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial conference.
