Andrea Nussinow (64)  the owner and operator of the Blue Star Farms, was found guilty of animal abuse and was convicted of three counts of torturing or injuring animals and failure to provide proper sustenance. A search warrant execution allegedly found 13 horses neglected at the farm. Officials said Nussinow has been arrested multiple times prior for animal neglect. Each count carries a maximum sentence of up to a year in jail, a $1,000 fine or a combination of the two.

March 2020 

Andrea Nussinow (57), was charged with 35 counts torturing and injuring animals or failure to provide proper sustenance, an unclassified misdemeanor under the Agriculture and Markets Law after New York State Police received a complaint of possible animal neglect. Three search warrants allegedly revealed twenty horses, two goats, six sheep, seven cats, one donkey, and several cows without proper substance. Andrea Nussinow was arraigned before the Columbia County Court and released on her own recognizance.

July 2017

Andrea Nussinow was arrested for allegedly not giving her animals enough food and water. Police stated that several horses and other animals on the farm were emaciated and in poor health.  Nussinow faces 11 counts of failure to provide proper sustenance to animals.
