August 2026 – Carol Kiaer, 72, faces Second-degree endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person or an incompetent or physically disabled person and 20 counts of overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals; failure to provide proper sustenance charges. New York State Police arrested her after receiving a call regarding unsanitary living conditions at the property. Arriving troopers located 20 dogs within the residence that allegedly didn’t have access to adequate amounts of food or water, some of which were kept in poorly ventilated, excretion-ridden cages. Troopers also reportedly found an elderly person in the home that needed assistance. Kiaer was released after being charged and is slated to appear in Argyle Town Court at a later date.
