July 2026 Brett Anthony Bellera (25) and his girlfriend Jennifer Armenti (36) were both arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals after they allegedly (in 2024) to have “burned to death” their cat within their apartment in Florida. According to records, the cat had suffered severe pain before dying from “involuntary heat exposure”. A necropsy was done showing that the cat could have died from microwave radiation, exposure to hot water vapor or being placed in hot water.
