October 2025 – Tyler was sentenced to one year incarceration at the Westchester County Jail for killing and dismembering an English bulldog named Bruno. Benjamin Tyler pleaded guilty to Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, an unclassified felony. He was sentenced by Supreme Court Justice James A. McCarty.

December 23, 2024 – The New Rochelle Police Department, in collaboration with local ASPCA officers, investigated a complaint alleging that Benjamin Tyler (39) of New Milford, CT, had allegedly taken a dog and strangled it to death at the New Rochelle residence of Bruno’s guardian, a longtime acquaintance of the defendant with whom he had been staying. Tyler then dismembered it, and disposed of the remains in various garbage locations around New Rochelle. Tyler turned himself into the New Rochelle Police Department and is facing charges of New York State Agricultural and Markets Law Section: 353-A Aggravated Cruelty to Animals – Felony
