August 2025 – Robert Palulis (48) and Anastasia Palulis (38) were both charged with 22 misdemeanor counts of animal torture after police alleged 21 dogs died while under their care. The two were owners of Anastasia’s Acres Dog Boarding in Argyle. The charges were filed after the couple was arrested after the police were called to the location to check up on “a report of deceased dogs at the facility,” afterwhich police determined that 21 dogs in total were allegedly found deceased. Both have since been released and are due to appear back in municipal court at a later date.
