April 2024 – Convicted / Sentenced for Torture/Injure/Not Feed Animal

February 2023 – Paul Carlos Palenzuela is allegedly accused of leaving a dog in a parking lot after the shelter had closed for 19 hours in freezing conditions before a shelter worker found her the next day. The dog was found to be suffering from malnourishment and Lyme Disease, and had also been hit by a car after being abandoned. Following an investigation, New York State Police arrested Palenzuela and charged him with two counts of overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals, failure to provide proper sustenance and abandonment of an animal.  Palenzuela pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case was adjourned for further proceedings.
