February 28 2022 – MacWhinnie, was allowed to plead guilty to a single unclassified misdemeanor involving possession of animals for fighting purposes. If MacWhinnie maintains a clean record for one year, the misdemeanor charge will be knocked down to a simple violation. MacWhinnie was also ordered to pay restitution of $5,000 to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

August 2021 – Charles Macwhinnie, 52, of Hampton Bays, is charged with Violation of the Prohibition of Animal Fighting, a felony, and two counts of Possessing Animal Fighting Paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor.
