June 2024 – Sud-Nieves surrendered all of the animals to the care and pled guilty to one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty and one-year prohibition of animal ownership in the sentence.

May 2024 – Derrick Sud-Nieves was taken into custody and charged with 35 counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals: failure to provide proper sustenance. According to police, 35 dogs were found in deplorable living conditions. Additional charges are still possible. After being processed, Sud-Nieves was released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Halfmoon Town Court at a later date. This investigation remains ongoing.
