October 2024 – Linda Pesek (75), a veterinarian of Long Island was arrested and charged with animal cruelty after more than 200 animals were discovered, with what was described as living in allegedly deplorable conditions in her home. Exotic birds, parrots, tortoises, geese and cats were among the animals taken from the property.
