April 2023 – Convicted

January 2023 – Tahir Jeffers (24) was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Animal Cruelty and was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. Jeffers was accused of failing to provide adequate food, water and medical care after bringing a dot to the Capital District Veterinary Hospital in Latham. The hospital reported that the six-year-old female pit-bull had several wounds to the body, was severely underweight, hypothermic and suffering from various other medical issues.
Investigators determined that the owner, Tahir Jeffers, failed to provide adequate food, water, medical care and shelter to the dog which ultimately resulted in the dog suffering from starvation, dehydration, hypothermia, multiple puncture wounds, broken teeth and anemia. The dog’s condition resulted in her being semi-conscious when she arrived at the vet.
