Hyder Creek Farm
Description
Why What You Eat Matters – And Why It Matters to Us at Hyder Creek Farm
At Hyder Creek Farm, we believe that food should be personal, intentional, and nourishing. That’s why we’re committed to producing high-quality, ethically raised meat and hay, because what we eat is important to us, and it should be important to you, too. We’re not the biggest farm in New York, and that’s by design. Our focus is on sustainable farming, not scale.
A Family-Owned Farm Rooted in Upstate New York
Since 2003, Hyder Creek Farm has been family-owned and operated in the scenic hamlet of Monticello, just outside Richfield Springs, NY. What began as a modest operation with a few cows and hay fields has grown into a thriving 214-acre regenerative farm. Today, we produce over 9,000 small square bales of premium hay annually and manage a herd of more than 50 pasture-raised beef cattle—all while balancing full-time careers off the farm.
In 2018, we expanded our offerings to include pasture-raised Freedom Ranger chickens, known for their rich flavor and humane upbringing. Our commitment to animal welfare, sustainable agriculture, and local food systems drives everything we do.
Regenerative Agriculture for a Healthier Planet
At Hyder Creek Farm, we practice regenerative agriculture and adaptive grazing to enhance soil health, promote biodiversity, and support a resilient ecosystem. Healthy soil leads to nutrient-rich, multi-species grasses, which in turn produce healthier livestock and, ultimately, healthier food for your family.
We believe that biodiversity is the foundation of a thriving farm. By nurturing the land, we ensure that future generations can continue to reap the benefits of its abundance.
More Than a Farm—We’re a Family
Hyder Creek Farm isn’t just a business, it’s a legacy. We see ourselves as stewards of the land, caring for it until the next generation is ready to take the reins. When you support our farm, you’re not just buying food, you’re investing in a sustainable, family-run farm that values transparency, quality, and community.
