6000 - First Blue Revolution

This first Blue Revolution was initiated during the Early Holocene, some 8,000 years ago in China. This is a time when foragers became ecosystem engineers; managing shell beds, wetlands, and coastal ponds for sustainable food production. Practices ranged from fish trapping to complex pond systems.
