Sunflowers of Sanborn

Description

I am a third generation farm “her” who, along with my husband, proudly grows corn, soybeans, and wheat as our primary way of living.  After having gone through some difficult times with the loss of both my parents, life wasn’t the same. Wanting to make them proud and having two young girls, Olivia and Sophia, my husband and I wanted to continue the heritage of our family farm.  Recently, on a family vacation, we stopped at a gas station.  I picked up a magazine and as I looked through it, pictures of sunflowers were everywhere! I looked at my husband and said, “This is it! We need something bright and cheery around here.”

The following year we planted the sunflowers and the personal stories that were tied to a sunflower were completely overwhelming; it is from here that the “Sunflowers of Sanborn” began.
