August 4, 1663 - Great Flood of Hudson River in 1663

Large flooding along the Hudson River as “…in the course of the summer, the country around Fort Orange was submerged by a freshet which caused considerable damage”. It was described that the flood came down “unexpectedly like an avalanche, and swept all away”.
