December 11, 1634 - Heavy Flooding in Mohawk Valley

As reported by a Dutch Surgeon sent to the Mohawk Valley in his personal journal. In reference to the Hudson River, “the waterway flows past their castle (a large Indian village) in their country, but we are unable to travel on it because of the heavy flooding” and “there was heavy ice flow”.
