“More than 9.5 billion chickens, turkeys, pigs and cows are slaughtered every year for food in the United States.” – ASPCA
Factory farming causes billions of animals to suffer every year.
Did you know?
According to the Animal Welfare Institute, there are over Nine billion animals raised and slaughtered for food in factory farms throughout the United States each year. Sadly, given the amount of abuse that occurs in these factory farms the laws protecting these animals are almost non-existent; thus allowing producers to continue keeping them in inhumane conditions. Common practices on factory farms include crippling milk producing cows with the overproduction of milk, injecting beef cows with antibiotic steroid hormone implants, confining pregnant pigs to crates where they cannot stand or turn around, confining hens to cramped wire barren cages, cutting beaks off of baby chicks, castrating male pigs without anesthesia, and killing sick and injured animals with blunt force.
