February 2022 – Ylik Mathews (34) was charged with animal cruelty for not properly caring for a puppy. According to Suffolk police, Matthews did not feed or provide medical attention to a five- to six-month old female puppy that was found by investigators to be underweight with “several medical conditions.” He was charged with torturing, injuring, and or not feeding an animal, an unclassified misdemeanor under the state’s Agricultural and Markets Law, police said. He is due to appear in First District Court, according to online court records.
