MARCH 2018 – In responding to a complaint, Nassau County SPCA conducted an investigation at the Puppy Store and arrested Robert Lawrence, 40, of Woodmere for overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide proper sustenance, a class A misdemeanor.Upon Nassau County SPCA detectives visiting The Puppy Store they observed a cage in the basement with an approximately 6-month-old Labrador Retriever inside unable to walk. The dog was transported by Nassau County detectives to a veterinarian for immediate care.  Lawrence was processed by the Nassau County District Attorney’s Animal Crimes Unit. He was arraigned at the First District Court in Hempstead.
