February 2022 – Alan Johnson (32) has been arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found a dead dog in a dumpster over the weekend. The court case follows early findings of an Emporia Police investigation after several reports of suspected cruelty towards a dog, including a dog placed in a nearby dumpster. Officers say they found a dead dog in a dumpster shortly before arresting Johnson on suspicion of cruelty.
