September 2022 –  According to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office Katherina L. Cassata (42) has allegedly been allowing animals in her care to become malnourished, leading to their death.  Nineteen horses, two pigs, a llama, a donkey, a cat, as well as a deceased alpaca were seized. Based on medical evaluation and conditions of the farm, Cassata was arrested and charged with nine counts of Overdriving/Abuse of Animals/Failure to Provide Sustenance.
